
To provide a constructive channel for the expression of various faculties amongst our students, to facilitate their all round moral, mental and physical development and to make their leisure constructively recreational, adventurous and socially usefull, great emphasis is laid on youth and cultural activities. The College Youth Welfare Club, with active assistance of the Department of Youth Services of Punjab Govt. and the G.N.D.U. Youth Welfare Department organizes Youth leadership and adventure camps, guidance tours, hiking and trekking exercise, cycling excursions, social work campaigns and other such activities. The college cultural and literary competitions provide healthy channel to the students for the proper and systematized expression of their creative urges. Arrangements have been made for the establishment of various hobby clubs during the session.
This year the college won Runners up Trophy in Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University. First position was bagged in Bhangra, Folk Orchestra, Folk song and Skit. In November 2009 the college won overall Folk Trophy in Inter Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University. In July 2009 our students participated in Youth Leadership, Hiking and Tracking camp at Dalhousie. In December 2009, College Bhangra, Orchestra and Music Teams performed at 150th Anniversary of district courts, Amritsar. Harpreet Singh, National Level Bhangra Dancer was given an award by the Amritsar District Administration on 15th August, 2009.
Five Bhangra Dancers of our college visited China and Malaysia under different programmes of Ministry of Youth Welfare and Sports. Recently college Bhangra team performed in the famous Reality T.V. Show "Bingo" on Colours channel. This team also performed at Wagha Border on Independence and Republic Day on the invitation of B.S.F.
In February 2010 North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala organized "Octave 2010" a cultural festival of North Eastern states in Khalsa College. The college provided venue for different events and also arranged for stay of hundreds of participants.
