College Campus
Khalsa College is a composite
institution with four wings consisting of faculties of Humanities
and Social Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration,
Sciences, the College of Agriculture and the Institute of
Computer Sciences. The campus also houses Khalsa College of
Education, Khalsa College for Women, Khalsa College Girls
High School, Khalsa College Boys Senior Secondary School and
Khalsa College Public School.
The College campus covers an
area of over 330 acres and provides latest
amenities for higher education. The main college building
is a master-piece of architecture after the Indo-Mughal-Sikh
Style, Gothic in design and spacious in dimensions.
Our hostels-namely Nabha, Faridkot,
Hargobind, Jind and Mata Sahib Kaur Girl’s Hostel can provide
accommodation to 360 resident students. The campus also contains
a Gurudwara, a Gymnasium, a Health Centre and Dispensary,
a Dairy Farm, a 220 acre student’s farm, a botanical garden,
a swimming pool, a nursery, fruit farm, a cricket stadium
and well maintained play-grounds, a well equipped Library,
Guru Teg Bahadur Guidance Centre, career counseling cell
and a spacious Student’s Centre.
The construction of Sri Guru
Hargobind Sahib auditorium is already in progress. Equipped
with all the latest facilities, it will have a seating capacity
of 1200. It is expected to be fully functional within a year.
Religious Instructions and Divinity

The devout and religious minded
founders of the College attached highest importance to the
study of religion and the cultivation of moral values in the
young students. The college provides regular religious instruction,
but there is no compulsion of any kind for non-Sikh students.
Services are held in the College Gurudwara both in the morning
& evening for the benefit of resident members of the staff
and students. The Sikh students are also expected to take
Amrit and participate in the celebrations of the Gurupurabs
and other religious functions. Examinations in Divinity are
held periodically and scholarships and prizes are awarded
to the best students. It is compulsory for the Sikh students
to wear turban. They are restrained from wearning patkas and
Caps.
