House Examinations
All the students shall appear in November/December House Examinations and
all other house tests to be held from time to time. The names
of the students for sending them up for the University Examinations will be based on the marks obtained in
these tests. The internal assessment marks, wherever applicable,
shall also be awarded on the basis of the above results and performance in other academic assignments.
Note
1 :

For M.A. classes 25% marks shall
be allotted for seminar work which will include at least
five assignments for which proper record will be kept
in the seminar file by the teacher concerned. The college
may hold a second test with the discretion of the Principal
for such students of these classes as are unable to qualify
in the house examination. |
| 2. |
Students failing to take an
examination for reasons of illness or any other valid
reason may secure permission from the Principal to appear
in the discretionary test to be held on dates to be fixed
by the Principal . |
| 3. |
In all other cases a student
failing to take regular examination will not be eligible
for the discretionary test. |
| 4. |
A student found guilty of using
unfair means will be fined according to College rules
and will get zero award in the paper/papers concerned.
He will also forfeit his right to claim a cubicle in the
hostels or admission to the college for a new course. |
| 5. |
After each examination progress
report of the student with remarks about their conduct
will be sent to their parents/guardians. |
| 6. |
A student is admitted to the University Examination/Board
only when he/she fulfils the above mentioned conditions
and his/her form is accompanied by the following certificate
by the Principal of the college.
- That the student is of a good character.
- That the student of Eleventh and Twelfth Class,
T.D.C. I, II, III (Arts, Commerce, Science) has attended
at least 75% of the full course of lectures (Theory
& Practicals separately) delivered to his/her
class in each subject offered by him/her. For Plus
One & Plus Two classes a student must have completed
a minimum of 25 practicals.
- That the student of B.Sc. Agri. Classes B.Sc. Food
Tech., M.Sc. Agri. has attended not less than 80%
of the full course of lectures in theory and practicals
separately delivered to his class (as required by
G.N.D.U. calendar) in subjects offered by him.
- That the student of M.A./M.Sc. Classes (annual &
semester) has attended 75% of the full course of lectures
(theory and practicals separately) delivered to his
class in each subject/paper offered by him/her.

Note 2 :

Lectures are to be counted upto
the last working day before the commencement of the preparatory
holidays. |
| 2. |
A lecture will be considered
as delivered even if the whole class is absent. The
Principal may condone the shortage in lectures as under
:
- For Arts & Science Classes : Upto 15%
of the total lectures actually attended by a student
in a subject (Theory) as the case may be upto 7 periods
in each of the practicals.
- For Commerce Classes : Upto 10% of the total
lectures/tutorials held in each subject for the Part
I, II, III.
- For Agriculture and Food Tech. Classes :
10% of the lectures actually attended by a student
in each theory paper and upto 3 lectures in each practical
paper.
- For M.A. Classes : 15% of the lectures actually
attended in each paper.
- As per GNDU rules, no lectures can be condoned against
Sick Leave or any other leave.

Internal Assessment |
| 1. |
In the case of three year degree
course (Science) : 5 marks. |
| 2. |
In the case of Agriculture and Food Tech. Classes 20%
marks are reserved for internal assessment in theory
and practicals separately in respect of each subject.
These marks are submitted to the University on the
basis of the house examination for inclusion in the
aggregate marks secured by a student.

Rules for Eligibility to the University/Board Exams |

11th
& 12th Classes (Arts/Science/Commerce):
A student must have obtained
- 35% marks in the aggregate for all subjects in either
of the two house examination ; OR
- 25% marks in each subject in the combined result of the
two house examinations ; OR
- 30% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects in a third
test which the Principal may hold at his discretion.
T.D.C. I/II/III(Arts/Science/Commerce):
- 35% marks in each subject in either of the two house examination. OR
- 25% marks in each subject in the combined result of the
two house examinations held by the college during the proceeding
academic year or combined result of thee examination. OR
- 35% marks in aggregate of all subjects (in case of Arts/Science
and Commerce groups) in the third test which the college
may hold with the discretion of the Principal.
M.A.
Part-I, II (Annual System)
- 25% marks in each written paper in the house examination
and 25% marks in the seminar work. OR
- 33% marks in the aggregate of written papers and seminars.
The students who fail
to take or qualify a house examination or house tests will
have to make compulsory contribution to the student’s welfare
fund as follows:
