KHALSA COLLEGE ORGANIZED A LECTURE ON "INDIA’S GLORIOUS PAST,  THE PRESENT INSPIRATION AND STRUGGLE AND WHERE THE COUNTRY IS GOING”

The Khalsa College under its extension lecture series organized an interactive Lecture on "India's Glorious Past, the Present Inspiration and Struggle and Where the Country is Going" delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Prem P. Jauhar; Plant Cyto-geneticist, Senior Scientist Cereals, North Dakota State University, U.S.A. Prof. Jauhar spoke on marvelous achievements of Indians in ancient, medieval and modern era in fields of agriculture, science, sports, astrophysics, space, defense, literature, entertainment, ideology and philosophy. He said that numerals were invented by Indian mathematicians. "Sanskrit", the ancient Indian language gave birth to most of European languages. He also emphasized on the fact that scientific achievements of India must be dealt with similar respect and acknowledged in same way as the other worlds. He further pointed that the issues like corruption, population explosion, female foeticide and casteism have been a hurdle in overall growth of India.

 

Prof. (Dr.) Daljit Singh welcomed the speaker and invited the youth to adopt Indian moral values so as to tackle the decline in value system. He said that with a robust knowledge based economy and scientific talent, India's emergence as a supper power is global reality.

 

Dr. Kamaljit Kaur presented vote of thanks to the dignitary and said that the glorious past of India need to be illustrated, followed, highlighted and preserved by the youth heartedly. The lecture was attended by Dr. Balwinder Singh, Dr. Mukesh Chander, Prof. Jaspreet, Prof.Amandeep Singh and students of Biotechnology department
